Albuquerque Public Schools celebrates National School Counseling Week by recognizing the 250 school counselors who work tirelessly every day to enhance the lives of students.
National School Counseling Week, sponsored past the American School Counselor Clan, highlights the tremendous impact schoolhouse counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career. National Schoolhouse Counseling Week is e'er historic the first full week in February.
"We are celebrating our counselors this week, simply nosotros appreciate them every solar day. They do then much for our students, and that responsibleness has compounded during the pandemic. They are an incredible grouping of professionals who definitely deserve a big give thanks yous," said APS Superintendent Scott Elder.
"APS counselors guide their students toward academic achievement, social/emotional growth, and career and college planning. They work with students, families, staff, and the community to create a culture where all students can realize their potential. Counselors focus on the needs of all students and back up their emotional wellbeing," said Vicki Price, Senior Director of Counseling for APS.
Counselors come across i-on-one with students, teach classroom lessons, host college and career activities and engage parents. They oversee course planning and provide a prophylactic infinite to help students navigate the difficult social aspects of being a young person.
